About Citadel of Faith
Citadel of Faith Covenant Church is a new ministry in the heart of the
city of Detroit. Under the direction of Pastor
Harvey Carey, Citadel of Faith launched its ministry in August 2003. The church is growing and welcomes all who want to attend. Child care is provided for those under the age of 4 and children’s classes are available for those under the age of 13. ALL ARE WELCOME!!! COME AS YOU ARE!!!
The word, Citadel means a fortress that sits on the commanding height of the city for it’s safety and defense. We aim to build a ministry where all of the hurting, distressed, confused, rich or poor, of all races and cultures come to seek answers from the word of God that are relevant to the issues of their lives. To attract those who are in need of God’s manifest power in their lives, we will reflect the light of God through sincere and consistent connections and service to those in our community.
As we develop genuine relationships, and serve one another, our works will connect those individuals to God. And, as the life of God awakens in each individual blessed by our ministry, a community will begin to grow in which people can see the power of God change and bless their lives, their families, their communities, and their world.
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. What We Believe
- The Bible is the inerrant, infallible word of God.
- The plan of God is revealed through His word.
- The local church is both autonomous and accountable.
- Jesus was born of a virgin, physically died on the cross and rose from the dead.
- Salvation is eternal, cannot be lost; the Holy Spirit fully indwells the believer upon conversion based upon yielding to His will.
- Manifestations of the Holy Spirit through the believer edifies the Body of Christ through spiritual gifts.
Citadel is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
